Under His Feet — Let Go and Let God

Writing the poem “Under His Feet” brought me comfort and reminded me to let go and let God because God has everything in control.

Sometimes it seems like my life will always be a series of “white water” rafting trips. Sometimes I get to relax and float with my hand in the water before I hit the rapids again and sometimes my life goes from rapids to rapids. It’s hard not to try to control the raft and steer it out of the “white water.” The first thing my mind does is think of all the “disasters” that could happen, hence the “white water” rafting.

Under His Feet - Let Go and Let God

White-water Rafting

One day I got a phone call from one of my sons about something happening in his life and I thought another series of shooting the rapids was about to begin. But very quickly I felt a calmness within, and I realized that what was happening was God moving and answering a prayer. I heard very clearly God telling me not to worry, to let it go and leave it in His hands.

Not long after that, my son told me about something else. This could have sent me on another white-water rafting trip. But again, once the initial “mother’s worry” passed, I felt God saying let it go, leave it with me, let me do my job, don’t get in the way, don’t sabotage my work.

Peace In The Eye of The Storm

Just because I’m stressing out doesn’t mean God has left me on my own. He hasn’t gone anywhere. God’s waiting for me (and you) to hand Him our burdens. We need to let go and give it all to Him. We need to rest on His word and His promises. After all, as the song says – our God is able.

Peace in the eye of the storm is great and that can only happen when you have God on your side, when you trust God and when you take all your cares, concerns, and worries and lay them at His feet.
